CNC MILLING
CLA produces high quality machined parts, using state of the art programming and inspection software, with 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines. 5 axis milling enables speed and accuracy in the machining of highly complex parts, from castings and from solid.
CLA prides itself on the quality of its CNC milled components. Responsiveness to customer demands means cost effective production. Working to customer specifications, CLA will produce high quality precision parts. Ongoing communication ensures all customer requirements are implemented, including any design changes.

Our temperature controlled CMM department supports qualified inspectors. The CMM is fully integrated with our CAD system, giving us flexibility to work either straight from PMI data to carline, or programme and inspect from a conventional 2D drawing.

Through online and offline programming, our dedicated turning team has vast experience in producing high precision 1 off components with innovative fixture design and work holding methods, through to high volume production runs assisted by bar feed and live tooling.
Working with raw billets, tube or cast components, our turning team is familiar with but not limited to cutting aluminum, stainless steels, cast iron, titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, nylon, and brass.

- SOURCING CASTINGS
As we often work machining castings, we have a close relationship with a number of foundries. We can source castings that we then machine and manage the whole process. We have close contact with cast iron, aluminium and steel foundries, working in volumes from prototype to low volume production.
- PRESSURE TESTING
Pressure testing of machined castings can be offered as a managed process with certification.
- GRINDING
We can source centre-less grinding, cylindrical grinding and surface grinding, as well as some grinding processes in house for small quantities.
- LASER ETCHING
If a customer requires parts to be laser etched, we use a local company and can manage the process and provide a quick turnaround.
- WIRE & SPARK EROSION
Wire and spark erosion can be managed by CLA to ensure a quick turnaround to customer requirement.
- BALANCING
We have long running jobs, such as machining flywheels for JCB and AGCO. We use a local company to balance all parts before they are supplied to customer, ready to fit.
