About us

Founded in 1974, C.L.A. Tools is a family run business currently in its third generation. From design board through to volume production we work closely with our customers offering support and technical advice to ensure continuous improvement of service.

OUR TEAM

We are a third-generation family business, excited to be taking the company into a future of investment and innovation. Melanie Flinn is the Managing Director and has been running the company for 14 years.

Her daughters Eleanor and Alex have joined the business, and they are supported by a dedicated team of highly skilled engineers. Dean Shephard ensures seamless running of the shop floor, whilst Gary Grant manages inspection.

Fast turnaround: A workforce prepared to respond to customer demands means CLA can meet the challenge of tight delivery deadlines.

Quality: Control systems underpin production by experienced individuals who check and take responsibility for their own work and are backed up by CMM inspection.

Flexibility: CLA engineers can work with designers on one-offs and small batch prototype work, responding quickly and effectively to design changes. We also cater for low to medium production volumes.

Communication: From initial enquiry to delivery of finished components, communication and a quick, honest response to customer questions is key.

QUALITY PROMISE

Our temperature controlled CMM department supports qualified inspectors. The CMM is fully integrated with our CAD system, giving us flexibility to work either straight from PMI data to carline, or programme and inspect from a conventional 2D drawing.
